Move your Chrome and Google passwords to KutunaCo

KutunaCo reads the CSV file that Chrome, Edge, Brave and Google Password Manager export, and turns every row into a password item on your phone: site, username, password and note, including logins saved for Android apps. The import happens on the device; KutunaCo has no account, no server and no sync.

How do I export passwords from Chrome on a computer?

1. Open Chrome and go to chrome://password-manager/settings (or: three-dot menu › Passwords and autofill › Google Password Manager › Settings).
2. Under Export passwords, click Download file.
3. Confirm with your computer's password, PIN or fingerprint.
4. Save the file; Chrome names it Chrome Passwords.csv or Google Passwords.csv.

The file contains every password Chrome shows in its password manager, including the ones synced to your Google account.

How do I export from Google Password Manager on Android?

On Android the passwords live in Google Password Manager: Settings › Passwords & accounts (or Google › Autofill) › Google Password Manager › Settings › Export passwords. Confirm with your screen lock and save the CSV file on the phone. The web version at passwords.google.com has the same setting under the gear icon.

What about Chrome on iPhone, Edge and Brave?

• Chrome on iPhone: Settings › Password Manager › gear icon › Export passwords. Save the file to the Files app; you can open it with KutunaCo from there.
• Microsoft Edge: Settings › Profiles › Passwords (or Wallet › Passwords) › three-dot menu › Export passwords.
• Brave: brave://password-manager/settings › Export passwords.

All of them write the same CSV layout as Chrome, so the steps below are identical.

What does the file contain?

The columns are name, url, username, password and, in newer versions, note. KutunaCo keeps all of them: the name becomes the title, the URL is stored for autofill matching, the note is kept as the note. Passwords saved for Android apps have addresses starting with android://; KutunaCo keeps those too, so autofill can offer them in the right app. Passkeys are not part of Chrome's export.

How do I import the file into KutunaCo?

1. Move the CSV file to your phone if it was exported on a computer (AirDrop, cable or a cloud folder you will clean afterwards).
2. In KutunaCo, go to Ayarlar › Veri Yönetimi › Geri Yükle / İçe Aktar › Dosya Seç (Settings › Data Management › Restore / Import › Choose file) and pick the file. Opening it from the Files app or the share menu with KutunaCo works too.
3. The preview shows "Chrome / Google Şifre Yöneticisi" as the source, the number of items found and any already in your vault.
4. Confirm with İçe Aktar (Import).
5. Delete the CSV file from your phone, your computer and wherever you moved it through.

Is the exported CSV file dangerous?

Yes: it is plain text, and anyone who opens it can read every password. Export it only when you are ready to import, do not e-mail it to yourself, and delete it from every place it touched as soon as the import is done, including the Downloads folder and the trash. KutunaCo warns you about such files during the import.

Should I turn off Chrome's password saving afterwards?

That is up to you, but running two password managers leads to passwords being saved in one and missing in the other. To make KutunaCo the one that fills logins on your phone, turn on autofill as described on the help page. To stop Chrome offering to save passwords, turn off "Offer to save passwords" in Chrome's password settings; you can also delete the passwords from Google Password Manager once you have checked that they work in KutunaCo.

Will items be duplicated if I import twice?

No. Rows that are already in your vault, or repeated within the file, are recognised by content and shown in the preview as already saved. If the same site and username carry a different password, it is added as a separate item and the preview warns you.
